The proposed refurbishment of

St. Mary’s Church, Castleblayney includes;

Roof: Re-slating, renewing rainwater goods, remove and re-fix barge stones, renew leadwork

External walls: The renewal of approximately approx 50% of defective render, repair remainder and repaint completely. Clean, repoint existing stone crosses, features and buttresses as necessary.

Windows and external doors: Repair and renew as necessary

Floors: Remove boarding and provide clay tiling to main and side aisles. Marble tiles and risers to sanctuary. Sand existing timber floor, prepare and re-varnish. New carpet to gallery and stairs

Internal walls: Re-plaster and repaint.

Ceiling: Clean, restore and re-varnish

Seating: remove and renew existing pews.

Sanctuary: Relocate with new flooring and furnishings

Lighting and heating: Rewire and renew all electrical fittings; renew heating system

Entrances: Renew all existing entrances and create new porches on side entrances; new steps, ramp and balustrade at main entrance.

Create two new sacristies and provide a welcoming space at main entrance.

Relocate stairs to choir gallery.
